Clara Steen Skott diary, 1942-1946

December 10

1942  Baked bread. More snow. Wrapped square cans of honey - 3 pkgs. and fruit cake for Elsie. Headache from Frank's creosote. Took nap. Sent 1st Christmas Pkg.

11th  1943  Frank worked at Morey's after 3 days at home in bed. I baked bread and choc. frosted cream cake. Cleaned up house. Got Danish cards and translated them. Very windy P.M. and eve. Embroidered second dish towel.

1944 Hans and I walked to church. Aired his flannel shirts all A.M. Wrapped pkg for Pauline, wrote cards, letters.

1945 25° 35°  Mist and rain turned to an all afternoon snow of heavy flakes, loading shrubs. Signe and I wrapped up 4 Christmas packages, for Teeple's, Pauline and Rita, 3 aprons for Bolins. Froze in eve.

1946  Slept 9 or 10 hours! Took throat lozenges. Went to UNRRA P.O. - 3 letters. Sent one to Dora (and Helen). Darned, typed. Milder. Studies.
