January 17

JANUARY 17
1948. My fingers sore from washing plaster from bathtub.  Baked Hans' birthday cake.  K + I to Cattisons', bought studio couch.  Busiest library day yet - 85 books lent.
1949. Hans rather neglected on his 57th birthday.  I had Jr. make jelled Waldorf salads, Jr. Sir. dateloaves for Father Son football banquet, planned for 100, attended by 130, making much extra work.  Took girls donation in Howell ice cream.
1950. Hans 58.  Ironed, baked his birthday cake.  Sent pkg. with food, 7 yds. gingham to Knieps.  In eve talked 9:30-10:30 at Guild on Denmark + Norway.  Deone took me.  Got cold + windy.  Gave Hans pillow, Sig, ft. pen, Owen's scarf.  Did federal income tax, report in 2 Hrs.
1951. K took my pic + needlepoint chair.  Indigestion.  Mr. Vold + I got head, liver, etc. from Branch Co.  Hans came home at noon from office with bad headache.  In PM Mrs. Utter + I hauled her fern, etc. here for me to care for.
1951.  Hans worked most of day, but couldn't eat much - on his 60th birthday.  I walked to Raccoli's and J. Weston's on Maywood, got orders for 4 dresses.
