JANUARY 22 1948. Stayed in bed all day, taking Vit. C. every 2 hrs. as cold threatens. Elmore W. called, with $55 rent check + his bill so far. Read most of Dragonwyck. Sunny 1949. From 8 on I made triple batch of butterhorn rolls, also of date loaf, + 6 pkgs lime jello in Waldorf salad for Mary Helen's wedding, which I attended in Pres. church. Reception then we went home by 7 after Hans got home from Outlook mtg, [illegible] 1950. To church with Mr. Salchauleyer, home with Frank. Mrs. Story + Ellen there with E. Holbock. Weidemann's here for 2 o'clock dinner. Icy. They brought us pkg. strawberries. K + Hans worked on darkroom. 1951. Did washing in 1 3/4 hr. A little more snow. Read in "Horse + Buggy Dr." by Hergler. In eve, Joan Kromrey, I, Pearl Foss + Mrs. Hofstad made more than 100 "Payon" copies of tulip design on banquet program covers at Hofstad's. 1952. About 4" snow.
