1948 Baked apple crisp, mended. Gruber still hasn't his new plastic finish lineoleum we want for bathrooms up from Xpress office. Not busy at library in eve - too cold. 102 books this week. Sunny 1949 Didn't sleep till 1 - and had to take phenylbarb [phenobarbital?]. Freshmen girls put in extra time. Sophs made 2 kinds ice cream. tired, so after walk downtown I slept 1 1/4 hrs. Hans didn't come for supper till after 7. Walked to library + to mail letters in eve. 1950 Started listening to Helen White's Univ. lectures on English Literature for this semester. We washed. I hung 3 sheets, etc. outside. They did not dry very well. Went to woman's Club; chief interest Mrs. Rupp's report on "Better Middleton" contest. Fine scrapbook. Cut out bed jacket for Kathryn. Frank back from Iowa. 1951 -14º Did the washing. Nap in P.M. Walked to P.O. slept 9 hrs. last night. Sent federal tax in. Guild had charge of first Lenten service. Mrs. Drake was M.C., I led responsive reading. Movie "Calling of Matthew" 1952 Cold + chilly AM. I washed, hung all inside - then sunny + thawed in PM! Mrs. Neuman here to pick a diff dress - I wrote Fashion Frox an indignant letter. Drove downtown.
