1948 Zero. 3 in my S.S. class. Jerry Futz spoke on Am. Friends' service Comm. at church. In eve 29 ^too cold for more to hear Prof PT Ellsworth. Mrs Evans + group sang. Mrs. Ray Davis + Mrs. Forrest Mealey + I sewed. date bread, jello + coffee. Hans was Chm. 1949 Freshmen sewing (+ still cutting) at odd hours from 9:45 till nearly 5. Sophs made cake, ice cream roll. Hans home from day at Fennimore with bad headache. 1950 Big ironing - 9 shirts, etc. Mended. Drizzle turning to snow in PM. I walked down town, + shoveled sidewalks, 2". Began crocheting soakers afghan stitch. 1951 Ironed. Took nap. Wrote to girls + K + Owen. -1º at noon - no warmer all day. Last eve saw new moon + 2 out of 3 planets at 6:45 PM - out of 3 possible. Probably Venus + Jupiter, not Mars. Planned to go to Madison Garden Clinic but too cold. 1952 Snow most of forenoon. Sun in PM. I ironed Shoveled walks after lunch. Drove to Branch but road so slick my Ford turned around + went in roadside ditch. Branch Co. pulled me out. Ed Kromrey here briefly. Frank home late in his Model A.
