1948. Kathryn's bus came in from Maquoketa at 12:25AM. Slept 1-6:15, also nap after dinner. Larry Don back on job. Buffet being made. Baked cookies for Guild. Helped Deone Rabe + Ruth [Last name] serve toasted cheese sandwiches and cocoa at guild. Packed box for Denmark 1949. Got + wrote 7. Lining up some girls dresses. H. Sugden backfor 1st time in 2 wks. Fine sunny day begins to melt snow Sent in order for more cards. Seamed chambray skirt. Basketball tournament begins in eve - we don't go 1950. Awake with tummy ache after 4:40. Not much good all day. did some needlepoint. 1951. Baked brown bread + date-filled bars. Finished gabardine dress. walked to library in eve, thru 2" water on some sidewalks. 1952. Drove to S.S. 99 (too many . . . ) + church. 11 in class with Ed Kromrey talking on "The Mature Mind". Doris B. + I sold more church annuals. Finished Pearl Buck's "Portrait of a Marriage". Frank + Dale K here a few minutes. Ed Kromrey called.
