1948 Managed to wash my hair in AM + dried by stove. Put facing in old blue (spangled) dress in P.M., stitching it on machine at Kalvestran's (now in Chandler's home). 1949. Just cleaned apt. Took nap in PM. reread "Bridge of Sam Luis Rey." We went back to Muscoda after supper, as our lights are again good. Wrote Fru Hanson. 1950. Washed, inc. 2 wool pants + shirt for Frank. Downtown briefly. Watered Anna May's plants, as they are gone, she to St. Paul 5 days. Painted 4 dish towels, + green chambray cushion for K. My maroon pants turned out to be brown! Maurine here in eve. 1951 Frank home till 5AM. Ironed, rested. Guild at 7:30 - took E. Kromrey as usual. Business mtg 40 or 45" anyway! Violet Wilta talked 1 hr. 10" on Mendota hoop - so home late, very tired. 1952. Baked 99 rolls + 3 cherry pies - 1 for Peggy, rest for athletic banquet. Drove around + got 5 dressed turkeys + 4 other pies + took to high school. Got stuck in Cooke's driveway. Nap 5:30 to 6! Tired. Guild net $168+
