FEBRUARY 27 1948 Rain all day - Water beat in on east side in attic and in most of basement windows. Basement sweeping kept me busy. Baked bread, mended, cleaned some rooms. 2 couples after big apt - Weyn's and Olson's. 1949. Drove to church alone. Frank at Wayne Weidemann's. Guild business mtg after church voted $500. to Bell and Tower Fund - a "[carillonic?] system" We napped and rested. Stopped at O. Olson's on way back to Muscoda's, so got there at 10. 0 degrees. 1950 Sunny. We had to wring clothes by hand - so they did not dry as quickly as usual. Cut out and quilted quite a bit on grandma's bed jacket. Mrs. Ed [name] phoned to ask me to let them nominate me for sec. of Woman's Club next year. Thunder and rain in late eve. 1951 Couldn't sleep till nearly 1 - then only slept till 5:30. Ironed then slept an hr. Mrs. O'Neil called for me to judge Legion [illegible] essay contest later. Sold 4 tickets downtown. Took tickets 5 to 8 at Guild pancake supper then helped clean up kitchen. [illegible] there. 1952. Hans' fourth good day in a row. I washed, hung whites outside, they froze then sun shone in PM. Got an order from Mrs. Hellenbrand. My guild exec comm. at church 7:15 fizzled. Only Verma and M. Phelps [illegible] here at noon
