MARCH 1 1948 Awoke from 2 AM train till after 5 AM train went thru. Some vinegar in last night's salad! Carpenters finish stairway, hung door on cleaning closet; painters working on our apt. I drove in to Adolphson's, 2118 Adams, and showed pics and souvenirs at Extension League. 1949 In eve I sold tickets for Jr. play "Mother-in-law." Mary Storms was the m-i-l, Joanne [name her dau. (Bob Scott's wife). Hans' class so late I went home first. 1950. Baked wh. wheat raisin bread. Worked 4 large buttonholes by hand to finish grandma's blue paisley dress. She got a $5 faille dress from M.W. Walked down town. Ordered groceries for box for her to send to Anna Bunge. Read in "The Nazarene" 1951. Sunny. Ironed 21 dishtowels, hemmed 1. Took carpet from stairs. Shoveled icy slush from most of walk in PM, when it thawed some. Read up on Assyria etc. in eve. for S.S. class. 1952 Sunny, a bit chilly. Ed Murphy "coldlamb". tho storms raged elsewhere and 10" snow. Velma phoned they would come, so I baked bread and oatmeal cookies, dusted up, got time cards (with Frank). Dr. Weston here. Hans' mother also came, Sig and K. 10 here for supper, chicken, etc. Hans up for it. Gugel's moved to lake.
