MARCH 10 0 degrees 1948. Ironed. Wrote up 21 books from [Irov?] Lib. for my "Comer". 1:30-2:30 - Mrs. Clift, Heebrick and I in Mr. Kromney's office discussing desirability of teaching as a profession. Library 3-5, busy of course. 1949. 2 demonstrations filled hr of Sr. class - Sophs made fruit turnovers. I made sleeves in gray chambray dress. Finally finished our state income taxes in eve $32.38 for us both. My buttermilk only suppers give me relief. 1950. We washed again without wringer, hung sheet and towels outside. Started to snow in late P.M. 6" altogether. Worked on income tax all eve. 1951. Mended. Frank phoned for us to get him at Rockford as he wasn't feeling well. We made trip from 1:45 to 5:45. Saw bare fields, a few green winter wheat, corn pickers at work. Anna May gave us poppy seed cake. To library in eve. 1952 Rained nearly all day. I finished painting walls in south room at head of stairs and most in N. room. Grandma cleaned chairs, desks and had coffee with Minnie Vold. I wrote Danish letter to Aunt Kathrine.
