MARCH 14 1948. I taught second grade S.S. class! K and we drove to Weidemann's for dinner - in dining room. Discussed memorial books, looked at their old brooder house "apt." - which rents for $50! Home at 7. 1949. 3 Senior dems. Sophs made refrigerator rolls and whole wheat bread. I baked latter. Made buttonholes in my gray dress. Am to get $100 extra - these last 4 mo.! Sewed on dress in eve. 3 degrees to 38 degrees 1950. Finished my striped seersucker dress except shirt hem. made 5 machine buttonholes. Frank took lunch along to Schaefer's where he worked 5 hrs. on bees. Hans left for 5 days at Stevens Point and Antigo on potato investing [illegible]. 1951. Hans left on 6:30 AM. bus for menomonie. I started second large piece needlepoint, mended, walked down town, started reading Gipson's "The Home Place". Took E. Kromney to Lenten movie "Journey to Faith". 1952 Slept 11-4. Wrote cards 4 to 5. Sent application for Social Security. Drove down town in rain. Finished painting north room, final scrubbing and waxing, stained the wall desk (where Gugel's had it burned with cigarettes) Worked on addressed circulars \ federal income report.
