MARCH 17 1948. Sunny and springlike - after inch of snow overnite had gone. I shoveled walks, baked bread in my new stove. Put things away in buffet shelves, etc. Busy at library. Gave bathroom a real cleaning so I could take bath - first tub bath for months. 1949. Senior begin sewing, Bishop system. Sophs. made rolls, turnovers, cheese souffle, etc. Sewed 5:30 Irish dinner to faculty in Home Ec. room. Home by 7:30! 1950 Very chilly wind. Hans went in on 8:20 bus, his mother and I on the 10 AM to have her glasses straightened. Home at 12:30. Adele phoned they will come Sunday. Fred had forgotten to mail her letter! Finished slip and wore it. 1951. Hans home after midnite, so late breakfast. Baked rolls and 2 pies for food sale, got Leona Davis' pies, etc. Was at hall hour or more. Sale brought in $97. Felt better by eve. 1952 Sunny. Hung big washing outdoors. First I softened water for first time alone. Mailed more cards, typed letter to Rev [Weirvill?] re Guild and other matters. Verna V here in eve. Mother S helped me with german letter.
