March 25 1948. Shortened sailboat curtains for bathroom & made new prewar Dutchgirl curtains for kitchen, using Mrs. Kromrey's machine. Didn't know about George Schwenn's funeral soon enough to go, but sent card. 1949. 14 from Muscoda High in Forensic contest today. Sophs. had exam over bread & meats. Cut out my pink butcher "linen" skirt. Planned to talk to Richalnd etc. Co Teachers at gotham in eve but was a week late! So went to O. Olson's with Haus, then home. 1950. Fine night's rest - on couch- but began sneezing & don't feel too good. Baked 5 loaves bread & cream cake, cleaned apt. Walked to Blashke's for dessert (ice cream torte) at 1:30, then program com. WOrked til 5 on W.C. program. Easter & wore suit 1951. Signe came on 9:30 bus, then she, K. & I drove to church 9:45 -11:30! Ham dinner, waffle & jr. strawberry supper. Dave H. came in PM to tell us of John Story's death. We ordered stocks of tulips at Hillside greenhouse. I beat girls in Cavasta; K & I won 2 of 3 in 500. Haus took Siq home. 1952. Awake when Oskar left at 5 for Ames. Left about 9:20- Boyer's nor Leulla Ruff home so came on home by 1. Roads dryer. 3 callers- Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Daniels, Weone Rabe. Verna Vath phoned. Only 35.°
