APRIL 7 1948. Big trash-collecting day for village. I had picked up boxes full of asbestos shingle pieces. Ironed, mended, wrote "Comer", arranged for delay in library board meeting. Library. Wrote letters in eve. 1949. Freshmen begin on "singing games". Another sunny day. Read in "Whiteoak Harvest" while Hans had his evening class. 1950 Anna May left at 7:30 for [illegible] in her car. Cleaned. Typed much of Woman's Club yearbook. Hans home at 6 from Dodgeville. I went with Lange's to Communion service in eve. Church filled. Frank out in P.M. - first for 2 wks. 1951. Rain all night. Planted seeds in cold from where K. installed elec. heating. Did some mending and cleaning jobs, needlepoint. Dan and Ellen, Jeanie, 3 weeks old Jimmie and Jem Stony came out. K. took baby's picture. 46 degrees 1952. Nicest day yet. Softened water, hung out washing. Frank got shot for sore throat then left for Rockford. But he was laid off a few days earlier than he planned, so he brought his stuff home in his Model A. At Comm. Council in eve. elected officers, Fred Liegois Pres.
