APRIL 21 1948 Lots of cleaning; library in PM. also board mtg, in back room again! My salary raised! 50%!! (to $30). Chris Skott and second wife came for Rhinelander on P.M. bus. We showed pics in eve. 1949 Busy day. Srs. and Jrs made bread. Their dietaries dangerously low in many cases. Tired in eve. 1950. Up at 5:30. Had to put on Hans khaki sweater under my heavy one to cut up ham and head in garage. Rendered lard nearly all day, made sausage. Anna May and I hauled home evergreens. Called on Leora Davis, recuperating from accident. Hans home from Kenosha at 11. 1951. Walked to bank in drizzle. Hans home (last eve) from 2 wks at Baldwin etc. I rested from a strenuous week. Went to sleep over Durant's "Age of Faith" in eve. 1952 Third nite in a row awake 2 hrs. Baked bread, put on 4 screens - kitchen, bath room and 1 narrow l.n. Washed most of our storm windows. Worked an hr. at Branch - letters, etc. Frank painted his new bee hive lids, etc. K. went to Civil Defense mass meeting.
