MAY 1 1948. A wonderful spring day. I baked whole wheat bread, waxed stairs and hall. K. waxed living room floor. Miss Petersen went back to Cambridge when Hans went to Madison. Eloise helped again at library. 1949. Breakfast on ironing board, as Leon Mitchell had borrowed table. Cloudy. Rainy all AM. Hans and I to Muscoda Methodist Church. Read and napped in PM. In eve to Boscobel, where we put on show for "Congregators" 1950. Mostly sunny - first for more than a week. K. helped me do big washing - there by 9:45! Sig phoned K's date at hospital. Frank took us in, K assigned to room 340, examined by Dr. Larson. I came home 4:10 bus. Planted some peas. 84 degrees 1951. Washed hall and kitchen windows, put up Sig's curtains.
