MAY 10 1948. More rain. Baked bread, mended. Frank to Baraboo for another week. Hans not well. I drove to coalyard for 6 sax coal. Library board mtg. not broken into much with patrons. Hope to get into reading room next week! 1949. Cold not too bad, but weak from flu. Long day at school. About 50 papers to correct. Talked at Woman's Club banquet at Hotel, tho didn't feel like going to eat. 1950. Awake before 4, got up and wrote letter to Dora, slept till 8! Baked bread and cookies, painted rest of hall walls; raked west curb and burned twigs. Sunny, we worked in garden. Sunned woolens. Finished cleaning up twigs. 43 degrees 1951. Rainy all AM. Hemmed 2 towels; did needlepoint, slept an hr. Deone and Janet Rabe and I to Tire Sale at Zander's, Cross Plains! 4 PM to 6: 1952. We planted sweet corn, etc. in Mdltn. Hts garden, tho damp and drizzly. Re-set calendula plants. Worked at Branch in P.M. Read in "Autobiography of Chinese Woman" in eve. Frank and Tony D. began digging for sewer and water pipes
