MAY 12 1948 Drove to town. Shampooed my hair. In P.M. May Sawle came and we went to see Mrs. Daniels at office about listing Community orgs. in MTT to avoid duplications. In eve Hilda and I went to Mother-Daughter banquet at Lutheran ch. Mrs. Kaberle showed her doll collection. 1949 Back hurt pretty bad but went to school. Virginia Studnicka began the short dems. by seniors. In eve reading "Young Renny" in Jalna series. 70 degrees 1950. [but?] awake from 1:30 to 3:30 anyway. Washed 3 screens and put on. K washed and waxed stairs and lower hall. We planted Topcrop beans. Hans home from Sparta. Baked white bread. Dr. Abbey of First Church called on K in PM. 1951. Baked 3 doz. rolls, 3 loaves bread, and made fudge for bake sale. Helped all PM - only made $55.13. Set out 42 aster plants in bed Hans spaded along N. walk. 1952. I put out the flares at 2121 Univ. Ave. - and washed the lantern chimneys! Downtown a couple of times. Took ln. nap as had been awake 2 to 4 or so. Frank begins 10 hrs. a day - little help for me! Helped judge 4H speeches in eve at H.S.
