1948. Hilda's last day at home. I painted last (?) dozen of screen moldings. Very busy at library in P.M. Many callers in eve. Mrs. Reutz of Crestwood, for signatures for HA Wallace on ballot; Rev. Ellers of Lake Mills; + Price Robt. Scott of Muscoda, wanting us to teach there. 1949. Up early + out at Norma Goodweileis by 8:30 after I walked in over wet sandy road. Picked spiderwort for Mrs. Scott. Chat with Alice Leanens. Walked to "Lower Town" in P.M. Oly found Jeanette B + Marilyn Rose home. Tired - slept a lot. Frank phoned from Harlan he had appendix out. 1950. Made green plaid apron for K., sewed on dress. Cleaned up house. 1951. Up at 5. Baked bread. Hans + I to Madison with 325 lb. paper for Cub Scouts. Got new hat, saw pottery exhibit in City library. Sig came out with us.
