JUNE 9 1948. K and I ironed. I painted front door, Hans Elmwood door. As I usually sleep 11 to 5, I napped an hr! Had first story hour. 2:30 to 3. In eve pic. show for Dagmar Petersen, Miss Jarlsberg and Vold's. 1949 Came to Middleton on 7 AM train from Muscoda. Alice Leavens went to Milw. for summer on same train so we took her to station. Middleton at 9. Frank home. K and I to Madison on 10 o'clock bus. I to passport office, to see Miss Gill at Woolworth's to see Pat Radel and Bev. Elder Reception at 1st Meth. church and shower for K. I made [nightie?] in eve. 1950. Up 5:30. At 7:45 left with Prof. and Mrs. Henry Bakken and Haakon in their De Soto, via Boscobel. Lunch at Hotel Roosevelt. C.R. Ames at 3. To president's reception at the Knoll - saw Martin and Elva Mosher, R.K. Bliss and many other, supper at Dora's. Informal class mtg. at Roberts' Hall recreation hall - 43 there. Marion Wentworth Stark, Sarah Field, Myra Reeve, Lillian Toff, Faye Wilson, etc. 1951 Hoed the home garden, planted glads. In eve to annual church mtg. Gave report of yr. for Guild Financial, $1580.+ Home 11:40 1952. Slept 7 hrs. Baked 4 loaves bread, did huge washing c blanket, 5 sheets, my old curtains and many black shop clothes. Sent Branch circulars - first time (in 3 mo.) I didn't mail them Sat. Worked nearly 4 hrs. for Branch Co.
