June 13 1948. Didn't sleep till 2 - after I put flannel nightie on over other. We heard Rev Theo. Ehlers of Lake Mills at church, Frank home for dinner & supper at pot luck farewell for Stanke's at church. Wrote letters & napped in PM. Dagmar Petersen & Miss Jarlsbrug called on way to Reedsburg. 1949. Up early & left for Muscoda but car balked & we had it fixed at CrossPlains. Hans at O. Olson's while I drove to Elaine Wilkinson's. F. Lenz with Hans. I drove to Byrd's Creek & finally saw Mary Storms at sister's home. Robb . Scott took us & Lenz' to Nelson's Cafe for supper. 1950. 3" rain overnight. I didn't hear it? Hans working in Madison this week. K & I rode with Deone Rabe at 9 to Vacation Bible School. I have 6 boys: Peter Bell, John Cornwell, Richard Schaefer. Kenneth Foss, Stephen Smith, Jerry Kromrey. K & I did huge washing. Took nap. Ironed set out plants. 1951. Visited with Aunt Addie & Emily H. Aunt A invited Emily H. & Maud Wildman for dinner. We called on Roy & Kitty H, drove past my birthplace & Grandma McCeue's former home. To Council Bluffs before 5. Supper in Hilda's apt. She &we spent eve at Wayne's. Allan's there. 1952. Froze 3 pkg. rhubarb. Tired, so only did 1 side of last 8 screws - more rain! Frank still in bed. At request of Geo H. & E. Kromrey, attended church board mtg. 18 there.
