June 21 1948 Girls and I did huge washing and ironing. I baked bread. Hilda met Deloris Young 10:25 bus from gillett. Hans and I bought '37 Dodge with new motor for $650 from Middleton Motor Co. 41 books out - record for Monday. Hans drove to Muscoda about 3. 1949 Rain in night and cooler. Ironed, put up clean kitchen curtains, fixed band on jersey skirt, finished white dimity blouse. Picnic at Hoyt Park at 6 with Al and Jo, Owen, Kae and Sig. I made cake and lemonade. They fried fish. 1950 Warmer. Mrs. Drake and Pat Kenyon made popcorn for Bible school. Only 4 left in my class. Nap in P.M. Walk downtown just before hail storm at 4:40. + 2" rain and hail. 1951 Deone decides to have guild serve at the 25th ann. Sunday. I helped her plan and did some phoning. Ironed. Froze 14 boxes strawberries. Made 1 batch Perfection preserves. Rained half the day. Hans came home from Black River Falls with another crate berries! 1952 Awake from 3 for long time then slept till 8! We did a little cleaning. I painted 5 basement windows on second side. Worked at Branch 3 hrs. in P.M. Frank and I worked in garden after supper; I pulled a lot of weeds. Mrs. Murray called. Men finished putting up rafters.
