June 24 1948 Errands downtown. More like summer. Baked bread, worked on rug, mother Skott cutting a lot. 1949 Several phone calls to pupils. My last day as teacher - workshop all day. Carol Muller painted luncheon set. Margaret B. learned how to read crochet directions. No Ila V nor Mary Pine! I finished packing and at 10:30 we left for home in hard rain. 1950 Felt much better, did minimum work. Went to Middleton Motors and we bought "Hawaaian bronze" Ford V8. Called on Hodley's in eve, then took K and Sig, and Owens for ride thru arboretum. 1951 K and I drove to church. Made salad for annual church picnic at Spring Harbor. Sprinkled some drops on dinner tables, but cleared. I was at Rabe's silver wedding 1:30 to 5, 7 to 9:45. Took care of guest book. Sig here PM and started chicken for supper. She leaves Monday for Columbia, 6 weeks. 90 degrees 1952. Very humid and oppressive. I washed by 9:20, painted 11 screens on one side second coat, ironed in eve. Terry S started mowing lawn and polishing my car. Mg&E Co dug trench for gas to house.
