June 25 1948 Planned to drive Dodge to Madison, but battery was down so we went in on 10 o'clock bus. Got her earphone batteries, and she got her glasses. We had lunch in bus station, then she left on 12:30 bus. Tried to shop but found nothing so came home on 1:50. Nice and cool here. Hans home at 9. 1949 Slept hard till 5:30 - and again an hr. or so in late P.M. Unpacked car before breakfast. Roy and May Dyas here from 9 till 3. Had Dr. Stricker "read" our small pox vaccinations. 1950 Walked to church alone. Mrs. Hofstad brought me home. We drove to "Spring Harbor" for big church picnic. Home at 3. When K. was thru at Larson's, then we all drove to Wayn Weidemann's. Strawberry shortcake. 1951 Very tired, but washed as it was clear. Shower in late PM and in night. K had pic of Lutheran groundbreaking yesterday in C-T. Took maps. Hans home 2:30. I got money, etc. downtown, then he left, after a nap, for Eau Claire. 1952 Took Frank to work as Joe didn't come till 7:40. Took Doris Buebler to garden club at C.A. Salerian's (?) where Mrs. Rausch of Wheaton talked on color in the Home. Cool on terrace! Painted 10 big screens in PM - some in basement, so hot. Terry finished waxing car.
