702 books circulated in June. June 30 1948 Very cool 55 degrees. Finished ironing, packed picnic basket, drove to Univ. (illegible) and ate with group of 30 from Muscoda. Saw "Quilting Bee" at women's program, Mrs. Kruse's play. Hurried to library, 60 books out. Eloise had 21 at story hr. Hans home overnight. To garden in eve. 1949 We packed food in foot locker and Hans shipped it on ticket from Madison. K and I did big washing. Very hot, so rested some. shampooed hair in rainwater, ironed. Mr and Mrs Steve Lund arrived from Philips at 9. 1950 Stayed at Waldson's till after lunch then went to Oshkosh with them. Saw apostles' clock in museum. To supper with Rev. David Speer. I drove halfway home. Called on Rev. Stanker (name?). 1951 I stemmed half the crate berries, canned 10 pt., made 2 batches Sunshine preserves. Deposited $500 in postal savings. We worked in Heights garden. Hans and I called on Palmer Johnson's in eve. Fire in their lawn fireplace. 1952 Cool for a change - and humid (92%). Big washing, but clothes didn't dry entirely. I froze 2 boxes rhubarb, painted 7 storm windows on 1 side. Read in "Winter Wheat" by Mildred Walker.
