July 1 1948 Prof. John Barton wants copies of my "Librarian's Corner""! Wrote corner, washed hair in rainwater. Wrote 7. 1949 92 degrees The Lunds in Madison all day. I ironed, in spite of heat, worse till 4 p.m. When Hans and I drove out to John Kruse's and Koberli's, cool chat with Gusta K. under tree on bench. Took 3 Chinese dolls to Lillian to copy. Hemmed top and skirt of blue jersey dress. 1950 Still chilly. Only did regular work. Baked strawberry shortcake and quick coffee bread. Signe here PM and eve. Went to library. Rained. Peas for dinner. 1951 Made choc. chip., gr. crax pie. We and K drove to West Blvd, 90 miles, 9:15-11:30, had dinner with Owens, Kae and Bobby. Bob and Catherine Leffler there from Plymouth in P.M. We had a flat coming home. Frank here in eve. 1952 Awoke much in night, so lay around a good bit. Was at Branch 2 hrs in P.M. Worked an hr. in eve. Finished "Winter Wheat".
