July 2 1948 We had Betty's sewing machine so I cut 1 pr. kitchen curtains in half and rehemmed them. Baked bread, cleaned. K did her washing, preparing for camp. 1949 We fixed up rooms for Jim Sharp and Bob Gregory. Cleaned down here. Grace Lund and I did 3 washerfuls. I baked oatmeal cookies, K a cherry pie. Hans took our old Dodge down to Mdltn. Motor Co. to sell. Put strings to blue morning glories. 1950 Up at 6:15 to get breakfast for K, working 7-3 at Larson's Restaurant. Walked to church, rode home with Hans after S.S. I taught Mrs. Lange's 2d grade SS class. Anna May here for waffle supper. Dale Kelley came from Ames at 9 - got supper for him. 1951 Hans in Madison office - rode with Joe Adler, as often. I did washing. Drove out to Treinen's pea viner for 24# peas. K helped me clean and blanch them. Rented a locker for them and other stuff. 1952 95 degrees. Worked 8-1/2 hrs for the Branch Co. here with Huseboe in AM then 1:15 to 5:30 in P.M. typing statements, etc. K and I at Treinen's in eve, after a little shower. Also sold E. Solchenberger 2 boxes Christmas cards.
