July 6 94 degrees 1948 Mailed 7 letters before 7. Wrote 2 more, sent 3 MTT's to Prof Barton and Sig's biege army suit to Rita. Hans was delayed until 2 getting started to Muscoda. So hot I didn't go to Madison with him. Basted up chambray blouse, read. 1949 Slept so long my back ached from hard bunk. We eat at second sitting 9:15, 1:15 and 7:15. Very good food Concert 4-5, 4 pieces. Saw dolphins. Many birds. Dance in eve. Talked with Mrs. Ernest Johnson and Betty from Madison, Wis! 1950 Baked white bread and coffeecake. Cleaned up apt. Mary Sawle and Hazel Zuntner here to plan "preachers' dinners" and Rose Utter later. Sig went to Columbia Univ for 2 wks. Hans home from Fond du Lac. Ruby Schaefer brought me crate of strawberries in eve. 1951 17th day in a row with sub-normal temperatures. Ironed 6 shirts, etc. picked, hulled and froze 3 pkg peas. 1952 Made sherbet. Jay and Edith W. came about 7:30, in time for breakfast. We looked at house, and new school bldg, etc. Sig and Marian D stopped on way to Devil's Lake. Wayne and Doris W. here for supper.
