July 8
1948 Some fresh cherries gave me stomach upset so was awake 3 hrs - then slept till 8:20! Wrote "Corner", ironed, sewed some.

1949  49 degrees  Very foggy and chilly. Saw an iceberg off Cape Race in AM. Had our baggage marked for Denmark. Worked petit point in scarce sunshine on aft deck about noon while we talked edu. theories with a prin. from mpls. "5000" with Charlie Hillman and Mrs. Hull of Chi.. Bath in "Badrum" - ocean water.

1950  Hans and I packed box for Marie Radtke, found postage up to 14 cents a lb. again. Got box of 5 black bass from Henry Vold, Balsam Lake. Scaled all, froze 4. Shampooed hair. Picked peas and beans.

1951 Storm in night and rained all day. I walked to church. Mrs. McKee brought me home. Frank here for breakfast. I read all PM in Peabody Sisters of Salem.

1952  Cool! for a change. Helped Harold Wells plan elec. wiring, also in eve when he, Sig and Marian completed the job. I painted both AM and PM, inc. side doors. Dr. Allen came and gave Frank shot of penicillin for strep. throat. Did my ironing in 40". Got Hunger Fig (illegible) from (illegible).
