July 12 1948 Up at 5, breakfast for 3. Frank off to Marshfield for 2 wks. I went with Hans to Muscoda. I drove. 1-1/3 hrs. Conferred with Mrs Ruth White most of day. Made 3 buttonholes in my new striped chambray dress. We called on (illegible) cook and Mrs Mitchell. 1949 Back hurt from hard bed so went to ship Dr. who gave me pills. Anyway its (illegible) deaden the pain. 1950 Hot. Ironed, mended, phoned a lot to help arrange Guild visitors at Dorcas Society Guest Day. 11 went. I rode with Pearl Foss. Rained so hard we sat in car 10" at church. 1951 Hoed out 2 pea rows. Finished hoeing home garden. Another night awake 2 hrs. so took nap. Conferred with Mrs. Kromey. Finished first reading Circle book "The Development of China" by K.S. Latourette. 95 degrees 1952 Awake 1:40 to 5. Mixed bread at 5 then slept till 7:30. Picked peas and beans in Hts., froze 1 pkg beans, cleaned house, baked bread, labeled and mailed circulars, worked 3-1/2 hrs. at Branch in P.M. Walked to library in (illegible). Nap at noon.
