July 14
1948 Did not sleep after 5. Moved bed and dresser. Worked at library 3-1/2 hrs. Ruth Close had story hour. Took "Corner" to Daniel's in eve.

1949 Back hurt so got up 6:45 and wrote - mailed letters. Slept from 10 to 12 then packed. Also napped an hr after supper then watched sun set at 9:15 with librarian from Portland.

50 degrees. 1950  Broke records for coolness this date. I washed 5 blankets and other things, also ironed. Froze 1 pkg. str. beans and 1 of beets from Vold's garden. Ed Kromrey and Geo. Hofstad here in eve. (Name) and Hans  made outline of study book.

1951 K and I sorted crate of blueberries Hans brought from north. Froze 2 pkgs. Hans took some to locker. Tired. We drove to Ken Hoover's 5-6, dinner at Frank Bliss' and talk till nearly 10.

1952 Rain at last, nearly all P.M.  Got peas and beans, froze 1 pkg, hoed weeds. Worked on books, painted 7 screens, finishing second coat on most of them. To see Anna May and Ruth in eve - sold 'em 9 boxes Christmas cards. Dr. A gave Frank 2" shot penicillin.
