July 22 1948 Wrote my Corner, went downtown, rode back with Mrs. Malcolm. K and I used Betty's machine. I finished machine work on jersey dress. Ironed. Another heavy rain. Hans' last day of Conf. 1949 Helped Aunt K pick big red raspberries - Sunny. Letter from Kathryn - Philadelphia! On her way to India. Hans and I to Hadersblev in Rutebil e.m. Visited library. Co. agent Konsulester Jeppe Schmidt saw us off - got books. Kaffe at 1 (Mariegade?). 1950 Sunny and a little warmer. Swept some in attic, froze 1 pt. Swiss chard. Frank home about 11 AM. Came by bus from Rockford. Here for lunch only. 1951 Felt better. Not so hot, tho 2 days now above normal! We all went to church. Last S.S. until Sept. Called on Mel Jacobsen's - new baby. Al Foster's, saw garden in eve. 1952 92 degrees. Saw McChesney at his home at 7:30 AM - says house can be done in Sept. Did our washing and ironing (only 1/2 hr. latter). Cultivated Univ. Ave garden. Picked beans there and in Hts. Heat hard on me today.
