July 25 1948 Not much like Sunday - I baked bread and oatmeal cookies, picked and canned 3 pt. beans. Owen here for dinner. Expected Wayne L but he didn't come. 5 for dinner. 1949 Hans went with Paul Nissen to sale. I helped Aunt Kathrine pick raspberries - In PM she and we walked thru Molby to Oksenwood. Thru old church, took pics. Tired from long walk. 1950 Hans left at 5:40 for 10 or 11 days at Philipps, Florence and Vilas Cos. I finished ironing by 7 AM! Made a dozen glasses of currant jelly. Took 2 naps, walked downtown twice. Expressed 8 mm. movie projector to VA hosp at Waukesha. 1951 94 degrees. Hans to Sparta. Hadn't slept till 12:30 so slept 2 hrs in P.M. Hottest day since '49. Had about same no. in eve. K ran pic machine. We took in $9. Watered garden and flowers. 1952 Slept 6 hrs - under wool blanket. Got up to 88 degrees, hot in P.M. Painted in AM, finishing garage windows. Took Deone and Judy to Madison in PM. Deone witnessed my new will. Paid off Ken Orchard for probating will - $450 and nearly 70 inheritance tax - all because of Comm. Life Ins. made to so-called estate.
