July 26 1948 Did big washing, with quilt, blanket. Hot. K and I did all the ironing. I showed her how to handle library - she wrote Librarian's Corner and will run lib. thru August. 1949 Quiet day, reading, some needlepoint. Anne and friends playing with paper dolls I gave her. Gave Aunt K. and Mette side combs, Mette an apron (necktie) - and plastic table cloth, etc. Also 25# flour, rice, chocolate. 1950 Home all day - Found my lost Guild notebook! Started crocheting lace for guild pillowcases. Began reading "Haldor Luxnes' "Independent People". Made pleated top for dressing chair. 1951 Slept 6 hrs. and again in PM. Hotter. Baked bread. Nap in PM (2 hr!) Hans home from last trip out, very tired. 1952 Got circulars and readied them, baked bread, shopped and cleaned; worked at office all P.M! Hot. Mrs. Murray here in eve and selected xmas cards. At 9:15 Kathryn and Myron Poole came from Lost Nation, brought eggs and blackberries.
