August 8 1948 K and I to garden for string beans, kohlrabi and Swiss chard before church. 50 at church. Mrs. Weirwill in hospital. Nap in PM. We called on Vold's - had apple pie a la mode - and slept anyway - tho not exactly well. 1949 Washed a few things - rained as usual. In eve we were at Smeden's for coffee and 9 diff sorts of cookies, etc. Visit Skole. 1950 K off from Larson's. She and I ironed. Got Red Cross refunds. Got big order of cards. Canvassed 3 places inc. the Graber Co. Rev. W called twice, also Phil Smith's and Doris B and Alice O. Turned in my Jacobson funds 14.25. Baked raisin bread and cake. 1951 Rain in night. Ironed, baked bread. Nap to make up for not sleeping till past midnight - two to bed 10:30. To garden at 5 for corn and carrots. Wrote 7. Downtown in P.M. 1952 Sunny. Washed, watered lawn and flowers, made more blackberry jelly, walked to P.O. with Phyllis and her boys, also out on dock. Hilda and I drove to Glencove over Narrows Bridge and had supper and visit with Partha and Byron McCalley and daughter Doris.
