August 19 1948 Paul and Helen (Pornall?) came to see us at Rossiter's, then we all went to Cotton's (Mrs. C. just back from Eng.) Lunch with Grace K. Paul helped us pack our dinette set and 7 chairs in trailer. I drove over T (illegible). 1949 Left Jever, Iben's saw us off. Changed at Sande, Bremen, to Hamburg. Taxi to Dr. Knak's office. Walk to Bellevue Hotel and An der Alster. Pic of 36 Schone Aussicht - ruin. Tired. 1950 Good sleep till nearly 5. Up at 6. Pulled up sweet peas and some weeds, froze 2 pkg green beans. Hans brought box peaches. I made 9 pt. jam, glass apple jelly. Nap after lunch. Frank here for supper. Mrs. Dale Smith brought her Jacobson donations. 1951 Movies and slides Bill Clark took in England, France, and Scotland till 12:40 AM! We and K to hear Bishop Northcott at Wesleyan. Dale Kelley here for dinner. Hans and I at Daniels' silver wedding. 1952 All day on Olympian Hiawatha thru Montana, 100 mi. of Idaho, corner of No. Dak. Read in "NW Harvest" did some of K's needlepoint in PM
