September 1 1948 Freshmen start learning to sew! I bought cookies, etc for evening "feed" after Hans and Mitchell showed C.P.A. films to his class and their wives, etc. I washed dishes till 11. 1949 Hans slept 13 hrs and nap in Hotel Borris. Had bad ankle. We walked out toward army camp but found no [heather?] Train to [Harning?], [Ringkoling?], [Struer?],[Thisted?]. Stayed at [Pho--?] Hotel, [Thisted?]. Warm day, quite sunny, but only 1 pic. Saw some heath, but farms good on peninsula west of the [Lin?] Fjord. 1950 Hot for a change, in sunshine. Drove downtown at 11, bought Murray's home Moritz [Schon?] and Hans put concrete floor in garage. M. - also Frank - here for dinner. I cleaned rubbish from roof from south yard. 1951 Baked bread and cookies, drove to garden and downtown. Got first order off to Fashion Frocks - canned 3 pt. pears. Hans and Frank working on garage. 1952 Labor Day Up 5:30. Olga got us breakfast and we left at 6:15 via Sabula, Galena, Cuba City, H, A, etc. 4 hrs! Rain at last port. Sig went home 1:15 bus, then Frank used roller and we painted ceiling and walls 2" coat back hall and all of Sig's front room. Mrs. Degn out.
