September 9

SEPTEMBER 9
1948 Very cool - and only a sweater here for wrap. Tired and took nap 4 to 5, then Matilda Frase called up and I was her guest at Presby. Church women's supper (see Sept. 7)
1949. Sunny. In Museum at NYBORG before it was supposed to open at 9. Old woman let Hans take pic of very old sewing machine "300 yrs. old" (?). Big collection of spinning wheels. "Skam Bank" in old Skole room. I got 2 pics on St. 10:20 train to Vejen, bus to Lerte for final visit. Napped in PM as I have caught a cold. Took a lot of aspirins - but no hot beer as Aunt Kathrine wanted me to!
1950. Baked raisin bread. Hilda at Sig's. Hilda and K to Dan Hollock's for supper. I shampooed my hair. Dried it outside. Fine day.
1951 Weirwill back at church and S.S - began again. 9 in adult class, inc. 3 new ones. We discussed current affairs. K and Joan Kromrey to horse show at Verona. Began reading Agnes Keith's "White Man Returns" Earl and Erma Boyer came just before 9. Furnace fire!
1952 Slept 7 hrs. Real summer weather. Did washing mostly before breakfast - only 4 batches. Frank and I painted SE bedroom (Marian's) light green, from 8:30 to 10:45. Got knitted beret and 2 pr. Kludesko from Aunt K. Worked at office 3 1/2 hr. Frank and I voted Rep. at Primaries vs. McCarthy.
