SEPTEMBER 18 1946. We drove home by 9. I cleaned stairs and bath, then we went to Madison, where I saw Louis Sasman. Sig not home, so went to see Aline Hozard a half hr. Got veg. in garden - last sweet corn and limas and melons. Moritz making steps. Sunday 1949. Breakfast at 9 at HOV. We walked along main highway, past huge wooden houses but I only tried 1 pic - of Randfjord. Train to Eina. Hotel nearly. Walked north, took 2 pics of Telemark cows and 1 of lake south of EINA. Well-lighted hotel room for once. 1950. Awake at 2:30, up at 4:30, thru washing about 6:30. Warm. Sat with Lee Lange so that Mrs. L. could go back to teach. 8:20 to 5! Did handwork on Chinese blouse, darned sox, crocheted on nylon scarf, got Mr. L's lunch. Canned 4 1/2 qt peaches in eve. Hans at office. 1951. Ironed. Sold Mrs. Phil Smith and Mrs. Scheene orders - Helen sprained ankle getting off bus at 8:30 in Madison, so couldn't sing at Guild. I had long business mtg. Divided into teams. Candlelighting service $80. Concerts 278.82 Slept 8 hrs! 1952. Rain - so really glad basement floor is in. Painted 2 SE bedroom windows outside, sketched plans for east kitchen cabinets.
