SEPTEMBER 21 1948. Freshmen started cutting their aprons, 1 1/2! Others making buttonholes, etc. Button collection grows. Faculty mtg. at 4 in my room. Our new refrigerators came - first ever in Home Ec. room. Home from Neprud's at Blue River about 1. 1949. Breakfast at the Pension, with a man and son from Boston and couple from Chicago. I pressed our clothes and Hans got a SKOPUSS then we went to "Tiny" Gulbransen's - coffee at noon. We went up Mt on tram and walked down part way. [Trognen?] park - took pics! Dinner, coffee and late snack. 1950 Deone sat with Mr. Lange. Hans and I packed and sent box to Agnes Kniep, packed car with our stuff and wooden ironing board for Hilda. Rain - to Barneveld. Hans and I left 9:45. 121 to Dubuque over new piece of road. 2 detours on 30 west of C.R. To Dora's after our supper at Nevada. We stopped an hr. at Art Pearson's, Springville. To Ames Garden Club in eve. Flower and Veg Show. Dora tied for 2" in guessing 17 of 25 flowers. Hans home all day, headache. 1951. K and I took Helen in - she to go to Milw. on her research tour, I to come home on 9:50 bus. K. fired by Tommy D, looks for job. I made 2 calls - orders, Mrs. Anna Schwenn, Brening's. Phil Smith and Geo. Hofstad here in eve. 1952 Awake at 2:15 also up at 3, 4, 5, 7, 8:30 - phoned Kae I didn't feel like coming, went to Dr. Heighway, who thinks I have kidney stones. Filled prescription at Blaschke's. Too much medicine made me dizzy. Wrote, Sig, Hilda, K.
