OCTOBER 1 Fine day - 1948 Went with Alice Leavens, Mr and Mrs Scott to SW Wis Edn Assn at Platteville. Mr Hadley only person I knew. Helen Scott and I home with Deloris Mitchell. In eve to Woman's Club at Clara Doorok's. Mrs Duffey reviewed her aunt's book "Bright with Silver". 1949. Set time back 30". Saw a ship. Sea still not smooth. Worked on needlepoint. Hans missed breakfast. 74 degrees 1950. Very nice day. World wide communion Sunday - in pews for first time by vote of congregation last Sunday. Church full. S.S. begins new study material (Westminster Press). We read and napped and drove out to O'Bridges' - got rest of my quilting frames. Wrote German letter to Marie. 1951 Slept 9 hrs. straight for once. Canned 7 qt. each pears and tomatoes. 1952. Didn't sleep after 3. Did ironing 3:45 to 4:45. Puttied nailholes in kitchen. Turk shellacked in Sig's room. I took up some plants. Frank and I got blue plastic for Sig's kitchen at 4. Carpenters framing 3 sets of steps.
