OCTOBER 7 1948 Rainy till mid P.M - Had exams for my freshman and Jr-Sr. classes, with practical tests on textiles, sewing machines, etc. Teachers saw movie, 4 to 5, in Teachers' Edu. Series. Corrected papers in PM and eve. 80 degrees 1949 By sleeping till 8, got rid of headache. Did a "stor vask" - also washed my hair in rainwater. Very warm. Ironed some, walked to S&S. Phone call from Mrs. Elmo Cooper to talk at a Trousdale WSCS circle mtg. 1950. Rain in night. Painted 4 windows on other side in AM and 2 in PM. Took bittersweet and flowers to church. Baked raisin bread, cherry cake for supper. Signe out for supper. Fried chicken. I cut out 2 green checked aprons for Guild. K, Sig and Hans gave me FM Radio! 1951 Slept till 7 or so. K and I walked to church and S.S - 126 at Rally Day, S.S. - most ever. Hans went in for Sig. I took her after supper, also K's suitcase, etc. to Sweet's, 520 So. Orchard. 1952. Slept 7 1/2 hrs. Worked in cold house about 6 hrs. sweeping for sanders who did not come and puttying hundreds of nail holes. Too cold for painter, he did not come. 2 of Carl Behruds' men worked 8-3 on heat stacks. Sig and Marian out briefly, I put on our storm door sash. To Woman's Club Guest night in eve. L W [Illegible] shared.
