OCTOBER 12 1948. 22 girls making aprons. Srs. and Sophs making dresses. Downtown a little after school. Wrote letters in eve. 1949. Beautiful day. Had flag out - it got aired! I washed clothes, bedroom floor and edges of living room. Waxed kitchen floor. 1950. Sunny, a bit windy for flag. I painted 3 south side window frames, washed and put on all our living room storm windows. Hans painted attic windows, etc. We brought 1/2 lot in Middleton Heights. 1951. Hans in bed with headache, very bad. I brought down 5 storm windows from attic, washed, and put on 3 more birthday cards! Helen from Boston. Put flag out. Hans only worked 2 days this week - last 1952. Only slept 2 hrs. or so - guess it was a small bite of birthday cake Kathryn had Sawyer's make me. Read "Home on the Range". Took neg. and marigolds to church but Wierwill had others decorate! In PM, I put 3 door springs on, felt on bottom of 1, Marian helped me put on steel closet [poles?]. They had
