OCTOBER 15 Letter from Pauline Soong. 1948., Very nice day. First freshman apron finished - Norma Lewis'. FA girls sold nearly 3 cases pop at arena football game here. I policed far corner of field but sold no tickets, visited with Mrs. White. Baked cookies in eve. Home by 11:20 PM 700 1949 Baked bread + rolls + a ready mix cake. Cooked ham + chicken in pressure cooker. Lillian and I shopped downtown in PM. Signe came out in time for supper + stayed. I slept in living room. 1950. Frosted cake, canned a pt. snow apples. To combined church + S.S. 9:30-11. 11 children baptized. Hans still in bed. I went to Owen's for dinner - they gave me black swiss hdkf. To Mrs. Morgan's tea - helped in kitchen + d.r. 4-6. 82 there in all 1951. Perfect washday. In PM. Hans began working at Sunnyside Seed Farm; I went to Home & Club on bus, at Mrs R. Gordon's, 2125 Van Hise. Aug. + Anna here half hr. before I got home. We showed pics of Denmark + China. 1952 Washed windows in Degn's apt. Took me nearly all day on downstairs. Cold wind tho sunny. Made me quite tired. Not much time for cooking or anything at home.
