OCTOBER 18 1948. Nice day after freeze. Usual group of girls sewing after my regular classes. Walked to Walsh's + P.O. after school - Hans to hotel for supper [?] Muscoda Improvement Assn. I went to library for 1st time. 1949. Couldn't sleep till after midnight. Washed windows all forenoon, outside. Ironed. In eve went to Guild - Avis MacLean talked on their trip west. Got job of helping Deone run fancywork booth for bazaar. 1950. Slept from 1 to 6. Canned 2 pt. apples. Did washing, with rug + spread; thru by 9:20. Walked downtown. Borrowed $200, + got $250 from Sig. for out 1/2 lot. Slept an hr. in PM. Got library books for Frank, with stomach flu. He ate a little supper. Began reading Jessica North's "Morning in the Land 1951. More rain. To Roy Brumm's, Buehler's (Alice Olson Lois Malcolm M. Phelp's, Mrs. Brown also there) + Joe Virnig's. Read Michael Klein's "Self-Pity" in which he blasts Middleton! 1952 No sleep - 4-6 so slept til nearly 8. Sig came over to watch dishes from attic. I made 2 pies! Vacuumed. How much I need to clean more. Worked at Branch all PM. Squad of small boys raked leaves, Frank hauled away. Dale K here for pick up supper.
