OCTOBER 25 1948 Girls still sewing. Had first fire drill. A fine day. In eve we went to faculty party at Mitchell's. I won 1st prize! (apron). Score 2800. There till 12. 1949. Felt bad all day, catching cold. Took a lot of Vitamin C and aspirins. Took hem linings out of coat and pinned it up. 1950 More "bright blue weather". Ironed, wrote up UN flag for MTT, painted 7 or 8 more storm windows, washed several, put on 2 bedroom ones. In eve gave lesson on Milk and Eggs to Homemakers' at C. Miller's. Lois W. went with me. 1951. Cleaned apt., ironed and hung d.r. and sewing room curtains. Hilda arr. in Madison, came out with Ellen Hallock. Mrs. Ethlyn also called, on her way to hosp. checkup. Hilda gave me 4 hot dish mats, made in U.S. zone Germany. 1952 Awoke 5:30, vacuumed, watered my and Vold's plants, etc. To Branch about an hr. Left here at 9:15, to Maq - then K and I drove to WL by 5. Bridge out south of Olin, gravel roads in Iowa rough. At Leslie's for supper. Used Marion's viewer to look at my Kodachrome pics. 206 miles
