OCTOBER 27 1948 More lovely weather, I cut and made almost all of an apron like the Freshmen's in 3 hours or less. Had 12 in my class/in eve. Colder 1949. Mrs. Daniels in for news. Dora left for Ames on 8:20, Hans too for checkup with Dr. Weston. I cleaned up house, ironed, napped, potted ivy and took 3 African violet plants from my pot. Baked cookies for Guild traveling which I took to Kromreys. 1950. Painted 4 new upstairs kitchen storm windows first coat, and 3 others. In PM went with Mrs. Raemisch, Muehlmeier, Morgan, and Lavona Wittenburg to Done Co. Woman's Club at Mago - Robbi Swarsenki spoke on various forms of security. Fine warm day - Hans and K home 6:30 1951. We took Hilda in to 10:30 N.W. train to C.B (from where she goes Nov. 5 to Tacoma YWCA). Greg. Foss raked more leaves. Hans worked at Sonnyside in PM. Big nap nearly cured my backache of several days. 1952. Up at 7 and 9. Left at 10. Bertha gave me 6 doz. eggs and nylon corsage. Went on gravel to Mechanicsville (another bridge out) Hwy. 30 to Clarence, gravel and blacktop to Wyoming, where we got lunch. To Velma's, to farm, then I called on Erma Boyer and drove home 4 to 7. I drove 220 miles.
