NOVEMBER 1 1948. Hans had appt. with Dr. Weston. Just as I was ready at 7, found flat tire caused by Halloweeners. Drove alone to Muscoda in 90". Took wash to laundress, school at 9:10. Freshmen begin Foods Unit. Called on Marilyn Linton on way to meet Hans at 9:15. 1949. Visit all AM - 2 painters gave kitchen and 2 bathrooms first coat. In PM Flo and I visited with Emma Hadley. Coffee. Hans and Victor to Elec. Farm. More pics in eve. inc. of Flo's cousin Josefine at Vesterhassing. Gave Flo a Danish spoon. 1950 Hans home - he cemented in glass blocks in entry way, and fitted Vold's storm windows. I ironed by 9, shampooed hair (dried it out in sun and wind). Downtown without coat. Mrs. Mealey and I cut 14 pr. curtains for church basement. I took her home. PM cloudy, cooler. Fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Temp fell 25 degrees in P.M. 22 degrees 1951 Walked downtown - twas cold! Baked bread, shampooed hair but dried it with elec. drier! To Murray's in AM. She gave me "Eleanor of Aquitaine" which I began reading. 1952 Mrs. Gates' cake made me sleep very poorly! I cleaned K. floor and waxed it, vacuumed, made buttonholes in K's shirt, worked 3 1/2 hrs in PM. Supper at Sig's - Frank, K and I.
