DECEMBER 9 1948. Snappy when I walked to school. In spite of no supper, didn't sleep well. (Maybe too much candy yesterday). Demonstrated Choca Stacks for Freshmen, who judged muffins. Sophs made fondant. School out 2:15 play is in State Contest at Madison. 5 degrees 1949. Wrote some letters and cards, hemmed 1 end of Danish linen tablecloth, bought tubing and began crocheting green edge. Got first Christmas card - from Anna Wilson and sent some. Swept snow at 10 PM. 1950 Slept till nearly 8. We 3 drove to church. Fine music. 10 in S.S. class. Carl Shaefer begins his turn as teacher, or rather discussion leader. Willie Parker here for dinner. Wrote Christmas cards and letters 1951 I drove to Church. Feel fine, but a Exec. adult Youth Fellowship and Guild officers mtg in church kitchen turned into an indignation mtg! that school program is on Guild night. Sig here for dinner. We took her back, I called on Joyce Steward 1952. Slept 12-7:30, not bad after turkey supper. 17 degrees above normal. Ironed and hung big ruffled curtains. Took Mrs. Petersen and Mrs. Lanfenberg to Co. Homemakers' Tea at fair grounds. Sat in rear hard to see. Got 4 pkg. paper with new house printed on, my name on 1 boxfull. Wrote 6 letters in eve. Foggy, cloudy.
