DECEMBER 16 1948 Freshmen started painting and embroidering. Our Sr. candy was stolen! School out early so that all can get back for Operetta. (I made 16 caps for one group). Operetta and cantata were fine. 1949 Cleaned up house, crocheted. At 11:45 Paul and Velma, Don and Harjo brought Hans' mother up for winter. Lunch for 6! Took them to see Sig and Hans. In eve, Dr and Mrs. Kolb, Prof and Mrs. Phil Raup and Miss Ellestedl here. -2 1950. I waxed kitchen linoleum, baked peach cake. Signe out from noon till 10:30, sewing etc. I mended, made buttonholes for her. Hans and K worked on making darkroom all day. -9 degrees 19 I drove to church, Hans to S.S. I called on Joe Zeigler's, saw their new house, wrote many cards. Hans and I to Hofstad's for supper and visit. COLD. 1952 To Madison for fitting lenses at Dr. Nesbit at 10:30, first in more than 6 yrs. Shopped a little but tired. Packed on square nearly 3 hrs. and NO parking ticket! Sold 2 more boxes cards to M. Phelps, 2 storybooks and 1 last mystery bundle at Guild. Ester Gerling talked on teaching in Wales.
